We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in the belief that healthy, just, and sustainable food systems must be built by and for the communities they serve. Originally founded to support school gardens and community food spaces like Juntos en el Jardín, we have grown into a community-led organization working to meet a wide range of health-related social needs in broader service areas.
Across all programs, we prioritize community self-determination and cultural relevance. We work in partnership with students and families to co-create opportunities that reflect their aspirations and empower advocacy. Our vision is to ensure that local food systems uplift the dignity, power, and prosperity of those historically excluded from them.
As we grow, we are also deepening our advocacy strategies and expanding partnership efforts with community-serving institutions to build up the presence of equitable food procurement from local, environmentally sustainable producers rooted in our community.
We are working with the Lincoln County School District to implement an 8 year plan for integrating school gardens at every school in the district. If you are looking for support at another school/district please reach out!
This community garden is a joint effort between Arcoíris Cultural and Grow Lincoln County and is centered around supporting our Latina/o/x and Mesoamerican Indigenous community members who don't have access to their own growing spaces. Due to construction, we left our three season home at Lincoln County Fairgrounds in September of 2023. We installed garden beds at the Newport Public Library in the fall of 2024. The garden is currently full with a waitlist. To be added to the wait list please contact us!
Our current efforts focus on expanding food sovereignty, health equity, and opportunity for Latinx and Mesoamerican Indigenous families—centering their leadership in programming. We are developing a farm-based program that will support community members in whatever ways they want support. For some families, that means access to land and farming infrastructure to grow culturally connected foods; for others, it may include training in value-added food production, cooperative development, and farmers market participation.
We recently rebranded from Grow Lincoln County to The Grow Collective and we are excited about new partnerships we are building around the state and beyond. Stay tuned for more announcements and sign up for our newsletter for the most up to date happenings.
